Dolby Rocks Entertainment Experience on New Toshiba Laptops
Music, Movies, and Games Come Alive on the Latest Toshiba Laptops
with Premium Dolby Audio Technologies
SAN FRANCISCO, Jun 15, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Dolby Laboratories, Inc. (NYSE:DLB) today announced that Toshiba will deliver immersing surround sound and crisp, powerful audio by incorporating Dolby(R) technologies in a number of its latest laptops.
"Toshiba's commitment to design and quality is more evident than ever with their new line. Their commitment to premium audio and entertainment is underscored with the choice to include Dolby technologies in their latest laptops," said Robin Selden, Senior Vice President, Marketing, Dolby Laboratories. "More than ever, consumers are using laptops as a primary media and entertainment device--listening to music, watching movies, and playing games. For a dramatic, cinema-style audio experience, consumers should look for Dolby technologies in their next Toshiba laptop."
Using similar techniques put to use in tuning movie theatres and mixing rooms, Dolby engineers worked with Toshiba to deliver incredible sound from each PC configuration. The Satellite L600(R) Series, Satellite M645, and Satellite A665 feature Dolby Advanced Audio and the Satellite P505 features Dolby Sound Room(R). Laptops with Dolby Advanced Audio and Dolby Sound Room deliver a realistic surround sound experience over headphones, restored high-frequency sounds often lost in compressed files downloaded from online media stores, and extended bass response by up to an octave. Also available is the Toshiba Qosmio(R) X505 featuring Dolby Home Theater. Dolby Home Theater includes all of the enhanced features experienced with Dolby Advanced Audio and Dolby Sound Room in addition to connectivity to a receiver or speaker system through a single digital cable, transforming the Qosmio into an amazing home entertainment PC.
"Toshiba laptops are known for performance, quality, and design, and an important component of this is Dolby audio technology," said Ron Smith, Vice President, Marketing, Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., Digital Products Division. "Dolby technologies create a uniquely rich audio experience for our customers making their laptops all-around entertainment devices that bring movies, music, and games to life."
The latest Toshiba laptops with Dolby audio technologies will be available for purchase on June 20, 2010. Visit http://laptops.toshiba.com/research-center/technology-guides/dolby-audio for more information.
